A place without form only comes into being through the presence of countless others.
Yet each of those presences, in turn, becomes a place by holding another presence within.

From shops, products, staff, customers, information, and money,
to the historical remains of modernity, ancient nature,
even elements from distant places like South Africa or Brazil—
all are folded into one another.

By layering imagination and fabrication upon this usually hidden, nested structure of place and presence,
this work seeks to conjure a new place altogether.
